AN INDIE ROCKER WEIGHS IN ON ARENA ROCK

I saw an article where Mac McCaughan (of Superchunk, also founder of indie label Merge Records) was suggesting new jams to play in arenas during sports events. I don't go to many sporting events, but it seems like they play the same stuff over and over (although I never get tired of Booker T. & The MGs' "Green Onions"). But I was suspicious: is a hockey game really the place to listen to Magnetic Fields and a Lou Barlow side-project? I was pretty impressed at his list though, which included The Stooges, Metallica, Mastodon, Santigold, Public Enemy, The Rolling Stones and Junior Walker & The Allstars. And Guided By Voices. Check it out at The News & Observer.
